CRJ Aircraft Landing Gear Modular Harness

PAE developed the modular harness technology for use on
the Canadair Regional Jet series aircraft.  The design of the modular
harness is so unique that it has a U.S. Patent issued, number 7,135,790.

  • Benefits

Modular design allows for quick replacement of sub-sections in the field without having to remove the aircraft from service and canceling flights.
Sub-Sections can be replaced in as little as 20 minutes without moving the aircraft away from the gate.
Modular harness technology allows for quicker replacement of damaged parts and lower overall inventory cost, because you only replace the section that is damaged not the entire harness.  This reduces labor cost and inventory carrying cost associated with non-modular harnesses.

Key Features of PAE Modular Harness

Inboard harnesses are fully interchangeable between left hand and right hand positions.
Outboard harnesses are fully interchangeable between left hand and right hand positions.
BTMS, WOW and Anti-Skid sub-assemblies are fully interchangeable between all four positions.
PAE uses composite connectors for reduced weight and gold plated pin/sockets to reduce failure from corrosion and increase conductivity.
Overall inventory cost are reduced by 60%, because operators of the modular harness are not required to keep as much inventory in stock to support the modular system as is required with the original equipment harness.

MILES 2000 Modular Vehicle Cables

PAE designed and manufactures modular cables for the MILES 2000
system for use on the M1A1/M1A2 battle tank, LAV-25 light armored
vehicle and the AAV-P7 amphibious assault vehicle.

  • Benefits

Modular design allows for cleaner installation with less space necessary for wiring.
System is designed to allow quick installation and removal and replacement of only those sections damaged during combat training without replacing the entire harness.
Conduit based technology along with modular design allows additional systems to be dovetailed into existing hardware without replacement of entire harness system.
Compatible with conventional and wireless detector
    belt systems.
Fully integrated into any existing MILES 2000 system currently in place.
